Newpark Senior Boys tennis team have won the Leinster Schools Tennis Senior Cup Division 2 title for the first time in the school’s history. They beat Blackrock in a close fought final in Fitzwilliam Lawn Tennis Club on May 26. Newpark’s name will now be inscribed on this much sought after cup alongside other venerable past winners such as St Andrew’s, Terenure College, Belvedere College, Gonzaga and Castleknock College. This was a real team effort from a fine group of young men who were both competitive and sporting to the end. Congratulations to Alex Redmond (5CC), Simon Lowry (6LT), Eoghan McDonnell (5SH/PH), Rafe Garland (6RS), Aindriu Conroy-Lennon (3GC), Ben Melvin (6AMCC), Fergus Halpin (6AMCC) and Fergal Howley (5DBT), pictured below in victory pose!
