About the LCA 2012-2013
The LCA is a distinct programme of two years duration. There are three main elements: Vocational Preparation; Vocational Education; General Education. In addition to completing modular courses, students during the two years complete seven tasks. To date the current fifth years have organised a swimming gala and a basket ball blitz. The sixth years are currently working on presenting their contemporary issues tasks to students in the school and are fund raising for Crumlin’s Children’s Hospital. In addition the sixth years are in the process of finishing up their practical achievement tasks, many of which are extremely impressive. Examples of the latter’s achievements include the setting up of a website on disability awareness and fetac level five awards in business and computer design.
Another important aspect of the programme is work experience. Placements this year have varied from The Four Courts to Dublin Airport.
